Let others see your iOS 12 iPhone or iPad device screen.
Here's how:
- Open the join.me app and start your meeting.
- Tap Tap here to share your screen now. The Screen Recording notification is displayed.
- On the Screen Recording notification, selectjoin.me and tap Start Broadcast.
- Tap anywhere to return to join.me. Your meeting participants now see your device's screen.
- To stop sharing, tap the Share button (bottom-right in the illustration below) and select Stop Sharing.
Important: Even though screen sharing uses the screen recording feature, nothing is recorded unless you turn on recording within the join.me app.
Share your screen on iOS 11
Let others see youriOS 11 iPhone or iPad device screen.
To start sharing, use the Screen Recording option on your Control Center.
Here's how:
- Go to the Control Center itself and long tap Screen Recording. The Screen Recording menu is displayed.Don't see the Screen Recording option? Scroll down to the "Setup" section in this article to learn how to add it.
- On the Control Center Screen Recording menu, tap join.me and then Start Broadcast to start sharing your screen.
A countdown is displayed and the recording indicator turns red.
You may be prompted to start a meeting using the join.me app.
That's it. Your meeting participants now see your device's screen.
Important: Even though screen sharing uses the screen recording feature, nothing is recorded unless you turn on recording within the join.me app.
Setup (once per device)
To be able to use screen sharing you must include Screen Recording on your device's Control Center.
Here's how.
- On your iOS 11 device, go to Control Center settings at Settings > Control Center > Customize Controls.
- Tap Screen Recording to add it the include list at the top of the page.
This adds the Screen Recording option to your Control Center.
Workarounds for sharing your screen on an older iOS device
For devices running an older version of iOS (below iOS 11), you can try AirPlay or you can use a third party app like AirServer or Reflector on your Mac or Windows PC in combination with join.me.
AirServer and Reflector run on a Mac or Windows PC and create an AirPlay receiver similar to an Apple TV. Follow the steps below to connect your iPhone or iPad screen wirelessly to AirServer or Reflector:
- Requirement! For your iPhone or iPad to mirror its display to your computer, your device and computer MUST be on the same wireless network or be connected via Bluetooth.
- Connect your iPad to the AirPlay receiver created by AirServer or Reflector:
Swipe from the bottom of the screen on your iPhone or iPad to access the Control Center. - From the Control Center, tap theAirPlay button.
Select your computer from the list of available devices, and turn Mirroring ON.
Your iPhone or iPad screen should now be displayed on your Mac or Windows PC. - On your Mac or Windows PC, start your join.me meeting and share your screen or the AirServer or Reflector app window.
Now your meeting participants will see anything that you do on your iPhone or iPad.
Other things to be aware of:
- AirServer requires a separate purchase.
- Reflector requires a separate purchase.

This screen shot shows the join.me app running on a Mac. The presenter is using AirPlay from their iPad to mirror its display to the AirServer app running on their Mac while the AirServer app window is being shared with meeting participants.
Another option: Mirror your iOS device to your Mac
There is another option available for Mac users if you prefer not to use third-party software. Simply do the following to mirror your iOS device screen to your Mac:
- Requirement! The minimum operating system requirement is Yosemite Mac OS X and iOS 8 on your iPhone or iPad.
- Connect your iPhone or iPad to your Mac using a USB cable.
- Run QuickTime Player and do the following:
SelectFile>New Movie Recording
In theRecord menu, for the Camera select your iOS device - Start your join.me meeting and share your screen or the QuickTime Player app window.
Now your meeting participants will see anything that you do on your iPhone or iPad.
